The mission for Beef Cattle Veterinary Extension is to take the University of Florida to the beef producers of the state.
The four areas of the program’s focus are extension, research, teaching and consulting. The focus on extension involves working with beef cattle producers on subjects which are critical to them and producing educational presentations and publications. Research in beef cattle extension involves production economics as well as animal health and welfare.
As beef cattle veterinarians, we recognize the importance of not only protecting the health of beef cattle, but also the continuing supply of beef products needed to feed the world’s population. We provide individual herd consultations as well as disseminating information to beef producers in area and regional meetings.
